Electromobiles from Kiev start to Monte Carlo

In Ukraine, for the first time starts the annual marathon of eloctoromobiles and will be held from 3 to 10 June 2015 on the route Kiev - Monte Carlo.

“After several years of holding this marathon the idea came to us. We appealed to the Prince of Monaco Albert II with a proposal to hold this marathon in Ukraine in the year 2015 for the first time, and he agreed”, - said the Honorary Consul of Monaco in Estonia, director of the rally on eloctoromobiles Jüri Tamm at a press-conference in UNIAN, on the result of which a memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry of Ecology of Ukraine and the Honorary Consulate of Monaco in Estonia was signed.

Every year around the world9 million people dies from the consequences of exposure to sources of pollution; most of them are children. This is nearly three times more than from malaria, and fourteen times more than HIV/AIDS. 5 million people die each year due to the climate change, which is substantially less than due to environmental pollution.

Green Cross Christmas Charity Concert in Zurich

December 26, 2014 Green Cross Switzerland together with Partners organized a Christmas Charity Concert of Kirill Troussov and Berlin Chamber Orchestra in the Tonhall Central Concert Hall, Zurich.

In the period from 23rd to 27th December, 2014 Ukrainian group: 3 children (young musicians from Slavutych - Kate Schechter, Arthur Khudoley, Rostislav Maksimenko), accompanied by the Green Cross Ukraine Coordinator in Slavutych Elena Germanovich - travelled to Switzerland (Zurich). The visit was organized by Green Cross Switzerland to ensure that children from Ukraine had the opportunity to participate in a Charity Concert, tell about Ukraine as well as to show solidarity. The Concert took place December 26th, 2014 in Tonhall Central Concert Hall, Zurich.

Gratitude Of Families From The Eastern Ukraine

Back in July 2014 National Ecological Charitable Organization Green Cross Ukraine (GCU) has provided assistance to mothers with children who were forced to leave the city of Gorlovka, Donetsk region. Three mothers and five children took part in therapeutic environmental camp, which annually is held in Transcarpathian region, in the village of Lumshory, "Polonyna" health and recreation center. The camp brought together children from Zhytomyr region, Bila Tserkva, Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and the city of Slavutych (73 children).

The opening of summer environmental health camp in Transcarpathia

Thanks to many years cooperation with partners of Green Cross Switzerland (GCCH) and Green Cross International (GCI) on July 19 the arrival of children and opening of Summer environmental health camp was held, which annually takes place within the international program SOCMED. Director of international program is Maria Vitagliano (GCCH), who with her team puts a lot of effort to annually hold the camp in Ukraine.

Team of Green Cross Ukraine (GCU) from January 2014 began preparatory work for the possibility and holding of camp for children who live in the 3d and 4th Chernobyl zone and have the status of victims of the Chernobyl accident.

In the camp, which this year will last until August 9 (21 days) in the natural ecologically clean highlands of Transcarpathia in therapeutic complex "Polonyna" in the village Lumshory participate seventy three children.

In the camp participate8 children from Slavutych, 30 from Bila Tserkva, 11 from Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, 19 from Zhitomir and region, 5 from Gorlovka.

Inauguration of the President of Ukraine

On June 7, 2014 in Kiev the ceremony of inauguration of the fifth president of Ukraine took place, where Petro Poroshenko took the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.

At the inauguration came more than 50 foreign delegations. The ceremony was broadcast in six languages. Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov closed solemn session of the Verkhovna Rada.

28-year-overcoming of the Chernobyl accident consequences

28 years have already passed since the Chernobyl disaster. Over five million people reside in radiation-contaminated regions of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. The accident led to serious consequences in the economic, social, political and other life spheres of the population in most affected countries. Impacts on environment and ecological challenges that occurred after the accident on the 4th unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant resulted in changes in the territorial organization and resettlement, changes in lifestyle, deteriorations of health, mentality and cultural manifestations among large population and orientation of its social activities.In the 2000s, the international community has united their efforts to solve the Chernobyl problems, which are relevant until today and require aid.
